TRAINING FOR THE UNDER 13'S BEGINS THIS FRIDAY EVENING 8TH MARCH IN CAMDEN AT 6.00PM.M
Our Annual Dinner Dance took place last evening 8th February in the Royal Cork Yacht Club. A large number of over 100 people attend this event which was a very enjoyable occasion. Amongst the large number of people in attendance were the Chairman of the South East Board John Middleton Snr, our President J J Kelly and the Chairperson of the Camogie Club Colette O Connor. This annual event has become one of the highlights of the clubs calendar and at this dinner the following awards are presented. Hurler and Footballer of the Year and the Hall of Fame Award. Last evening we also presented certificates to people who had successfully completed Foundation Level and Level One coaching courses. The recipients of these certificates were
James McSweeney and Redvers McGrath both received Level One Certs
Pat Murphy, James McCarthy, Adam Purcell, Damian McMullan, Denis Middleton, John Middleton Jnr, Sean Pierce received Fountation Level Certs
Bernard Lynch, Mick Noonan, also completed this course but were unable to attend the Dinner Dance.
Hurler of the Year was presented to Gearoid Harrington
Footballer of the Year was presented to Jamie Fitzgerald
John Fitzgerald was the recipient of the Hall of Fame award. John has had a lifelong association with Crosshaven GAA Club, beginning his career at Juvenile Level were he played in all grades. At Under 16 he won a Hurling League Medal when Crosshaven were merged with Carrigaline in 1965, he was a member of the 1969 hurling team that won a South East Junior 'A' Championship, he won several other hurling and football titles down through and was awarded Hurler of the Year in 1976.
At committee level he has held a number of positions, including Assistant Secretary, Hurling and Football Secretary, Registrar, Chairman of the Juveniles, Vice Chairman and was Chairman of the Club from 1979 to 1982. He has been involved in many other aspects of the club for many years and is truly a worthy recipient.
Congratulations to John, Jamie and Geariod on their awards and all our new coaches on achievements.
We would like to thank John and Fiona Middleton on organising the night, to all the those who donated spot prizes and to Peter Lee of Blarney Crystal.

Junior Hurling training is on Saturdays in Camden at 4 p.m. until further notice. Membership for players in now due and will be collected next Saturday before training. This membership also includes your insurance for 12 months.
The January Cork County Board Draw took place last Thursday evening in Johnnys Return in Crosshaven. We would like to congratulate Teddy Lynch and Eileen Aherne who both won prizes at this draw. Congratulations also to all the other winners.
Our Annual Dinner dance takes place on Friday 8th February in the Royal Cork Yacht Club tickets are €30.00 each and can be purchased from John or Martin.

Our Annual Puc Fada took place yesterday 27th December. Once again a very enjoyable day was had by all with large numbers attending both pucking and spectators. 45 teams took part. A big thank you goes to all those who took part, those who marked the teams and everyone who helped out in any way on the day.
Thanks also goes to John and Catherine Middleton and their staff.
Once again Peter Lee, Blarney Crystal sponsored the prizes. This year the Murphy Family sponsored the Best Crosshaven Team prize in rememberance of their mother Kathleen who died tragically on the 27th two years ago.

Our Annual General Meeting took place in the clubhouse in Camden on Tuesday 11th December. A large number attended the meeting, a lot of topics were discussed and all in all a very successful meeting.
The following Officers were elected for 2013
President J J Kelly, Chairman Martin McMullan, Vice Chairman David Walsh, Secretary John Middleton Jnr, Treasurer Ronan Cogan, PRO Catherine McMullan Assistant PRO Gary O Neill.
Reports were given by outing going Secretary John Middleton Jnr and outing going Treasurer Ronan Cogan.
Martin McMullan and J J Kelly both spoke. In his speech Martin thanked his fellow officers for all their help and assistance during the year he also thanked everyone who was involved at both Junior and Juvenile level and hoped that they would continue to help and support the incoming committee for 2013. He congratulated the committee of the Juveniles who this year set up a nursery program which proved to be very successful. He also wished the camogie club every success for the coming year.
Martin congratulated John Middleton Snr on being re elected Chairman of the South East board for 2013.
He wished everyone all the best for the coming year and a happy Christmas
On Sunday 18th November we held our presentation day for our Juveniles in the Community Centre.
We presented Certificates to our Under 6's, 8's,10's and 12's.
A large crowd attended this well organised and very enjoyable afternoon. Martin Coleman was there on hand to present the players with their certs and to offer some very good and encouraging words of wisdom to the teams. While there are alot of parents involved in teams at all age groups, Martin also asked more parents to get involved in the club as there is a lot of work and dedication required to run any club.
The South East Board Chairman John Middleton Snr also said a few words along with our Club President J J Kelly.
The Club would like to thank all those who helped to make this day should a success from notifying the players to decorating the hall to making of sandwiches and cakes , also thanks to Howard Crowdy and Ray Ryan for being on hand to take photos some of which you can view on this website.
Our Annual Summer Camp takes place next week from Wednesday 4th to Saturday 7th July. As in previous years a large number of juveniles are taking part in this annual event.
We will have members of the Cork Hurling and Football teams attending during the 4 days to give their advise to the young lads and sign autographs.
A BBQ will be held on the final day to end what will hopefully be a very enjoyable few days. All parents and members of the club past and present are invited to attend the festivities.
All we need now is the weather!!!!!!!!
John Middleton is the new elected Chairman of the South East Board a great honour for John as he is the first Crosshaven person to be elected Chairman of the Board it is also a great honour for the Club we wish him well in his new position in the ever changing divisional structures within the GAA..Johnny was Chairman of our club for 16 years from 1988 to 2004 within his stewardship we saw the purchase and development of our pitch in Camden and the Building of our club house and dressing rooms. He was also our first receipent of our Hall of fame Award in 2005 and a football Selector with the 1998 team that brought the South East to Crosshaven for the First time since 1966. He has been Vice Chairman of the Board for the past number of years and Chairman of the GPC and County Board Delegate. Johnny has been a true and great GAA man all his life and it is a accolade well deserved. Congraulations Johnny from all in the Club on a well deserved honour.
