CROSSHAVEN FOOTBALLERS COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP

Crosshaven Footballers play their County Championship First Round on Wednesday next 28th July in Castleyons against Charleville at 7.30 p.m.

JUNIOR A HURLING'S BEATEN IN CHAMPIONSHIP

Crosshaven Junior Hurlers where beaten by 6 points on Tuesday Night in Ballygarvan by Ballymartle in a very exciting encounter. The defeat means that they are now out of the Championship as there is no back door for the first round winners.


SUMMER CAMP FINISHES ON A HIGH

Crosshaven first summer camp finished today with a BBQ at Camden. The camp was a great success and was extremely well organised. Congratulations must go to the Coaches and the organisers for same we had 60 kids attending daily.A big thanks must go to Gerry Dineen Camp Organiser and  coaches Anthony Burke,Dan Toomey, James Toomey Brian Crowley, Kiernan Twohig, Mick Managan and Martin Coleman and Brian Walsh and Damian McMullan it was great too see lads of this age putting so much effort and time in to the coaching of our juveniles thanks lads. We would also like to thank the Cork Players who attended. Nicholas Murphy, Ronan Curran, Michael Shields, Paul Kerrigan, Owen Cadagon. Now we come to the highlight of the day the BBQ. The main Chef was Galley and very well assisted by Catherine Middleton it was so well organised that I heard someone pass the comment that it was like McDonalds had come to Crosshaven well done to all and a big thank you from the club. we would also like to thank our sponsors Johnny Middleton of Johnnys Return and Michael Good of the Admiral Drake. Thanks also to Collete O' Connell and Brian for staying up half the night cooking sausages and making the beautiful Chocolate Cake which Coughar eate most of, and to Shelia O'Mahony for supplying beautiful made coffee, and to all the other ladies who did a great job. a special thanks must go to Catherine McMullan who was the organiser of the Camp for the Club well done to all and a big thanks from the Club to every one who helped out. CLUB GETS PRESENTATION OF DEFIBRILLATOR

Crosshaven GAA Club where kindly made a presentation of a Defibrillator by Mary Crowley and Family last week in Camden. It was made in memory of her late husband Conor who at one time was properior of Pine Lodge Hotel Myrtleville and President of the Greengroser and Shopkeepers association. On behalf of the Club we greatley appreciate the presentation of the Defibrillator and the Training Cource for up to 10 people. Any one interested in doing this cource please contact anyone of the club members

Michael Coughlan another Weekend Break for 2 winner in the Cork County Board Draw for June as Michael won prize no 15 the club also got a set of gear well done mick

Under 14 Hurling Training & Fixtures

The Under 14's Hurliers will train on Monday 29th June at 6.00p.m. in Camden and will play Ballygarvan on Thursday 1st July in Ballygarvan at 7.00p.m. Transport leaves village at 6.00p.m. a full turnout of players is requested

GROUND IMPROVEMENTS

The new wireing surrounding the pitch in Camden has been completed and looks splended with new gates also in place(see photos under photo section). This is only the start of the work. Thers is extra lights being installed for Training a new entrance for spectators with a ramp at left hand side of club house. Trees to be trimmed and hopefully over the next few weeks the facility at Camden will be in splended condition. We would appreciate all Dog Owners to adhere to the sinage around the pitch and please abide by same. Well done to the Grounds committee for a great job done so far.  

CROSSHAVEN UNDER 12 LOOSE IN CHAMPIONSHIP

Crosshaven Under 12's where beaten by Ballinhassig in the Under 12 Championship by 5 points at Ballinhassig last Monday Night. Crosshaven played very well against stronger competion haveing to have to go up to B division after winning the C league. Overall they had a great season well done to all concerned.


New Hurling Coach

The Hurling Selectors have appointed a new coach in Mick Mangan for the coming season. Mick who was with us a couple of years ago is a very experienced hurling coach and has coached some of the top Senior Clubs in Cork over the years  and we wish him well
